Meet Recap: CNSA B/C June 25-26

NCA was over 150 strong over two days of competition at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex in Coronado this weekend, representing the team during the start of the most exciting weeks in the swimming world – the Team USA Olympic Trials! B and C level swimmers from all our sites participated in the meet, with some exciting and unexpected events being swum by swimmers of all ages, such as the 400m freestyle.

B and C meets are integral to the development of our team – many swimmers competed in their first ever long course meters (LCM) meet and discovered that there was a whole new world of time standards to be met! Swimmers achieved their LCM B, A, and Junior Olympic time standards. Most importantly, plenty of personal bests were broken and many set themselves a first best time, no longer a “NT” (or No Time). As Coach Rob said, “Now is the Time!” to swim something new and swim it fast!

B/C meets are also a great opportunity for new families to get to know the rhythms of a swim meet. We had many parents volunteer with timing – without it, the swimmers would not be able to have an official result. The weekend was filled with smiles from swimmers, parents, and coaches. It was incredibly exciting to watch Kendyl Stewart swim in the heats of her 100m fly on our phones right before the B/C meet started – seeing that green cap representing in Omaha gave us chills as we watched the next generation swim their first ever 100m fly.

Congratulations to all the newly minted B level, A level, and J.O. qualifiers. We can’t wait for the next opportunity to race!
