Personal

Roderick Sewell made his debut with the U.S. Para-swimming team at the 2014 Pan Pacific Para-swimming Championships where he won both a gold and bronze medal. He first began swimming at the Lakeshore Foundation when he was ten years old. Because of a tough childhood, Sewell was forced to live homeless during his teen years. When he became involved with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, an organization that helps to provide disabled athletes with a path to success as well as running legs, his life quickly changed for the better. In his free time, Sewell enjoys running, surfing, volunteering and teaching at an outreach swim program at his local San Diego YMCA.
